Awesome post, Melanie. Thank you so much for being so transparent! I saw your video on the Get Real Revolution yesterday, and it really moved me (I sent you a tweet, too!).

I’ve had sort of the opposite experience over the last year … I went from a $50K annual income to $250K in nine months. It was a crazy roller-coaster ride … and now as I’m looking to once again expand AND cut my work days down to two days a week (crazy, I know) I’m once again in that place of “how the hell am I going to do that?”

October has been a month of re-design, re-focus, and intense introspection. It feels a lot like tapping around in the dark. All I know is that the answers to creating what I want are only found inside of me … and some of those answers scare the crap out of me!

But that’s the essence of entrepreneurship as a spiritual path, right? We are forever called to dive further into our genius, and let go of the rest.

Thanks so much for this article, and your video. I really needed that call to impeccable authenticity this week.

Your honesty is refreshing and invigorating. Taking behind the curtain adds impact to the lesson and I know you know that. Generally people so in the public don’t have the you know what’s to take us there though.
I love your lessons–there are at least 5 I’m taking away here–and will send people here who are in a quandary to figure out what’s up with their biz.

Wonderful that you extracted the learning, and leveraged it to move forward.

I can certainly relate to having to “liberate myself from the chains of approval.”

I’d add a fourth C. Communication skills. They are critical to leadership, and critical to success.
