The winner will be chosen and notified Tuesday, February 26th, by 12 noon PST.
I’m really excited to kick off our next Virtual Team Building Tele-Bootcamp. After all the amazing reports we got from the last two, I know that entrepreneurs and service professionals around the world have had some HUGE results.
Here is what Kim Switnicki of Lioness For Lovers had to say:
“I attended the Virtual Team Building TeleBootcamp this Fall and I had so many wins from that program…It taught me to ask a power question to get into my CEO Mindset. I now ask myself, “How would Oprah do it?” It reminds me to stop working in my business and start working on it to have progress instead of perfection. So I take time now to stop and step back to see how to move the business forward instead of just getting the work done.”
Be sure to check back Tuesday night to see who the winner is!
Alright, then… on your marks… get set… GO!
Best Regards Always,
Melanie Benson Strick and
Shawn Driscoll

Hello Melanie,
This is great contest and opportunity that you have put together. I have been following you for quite some time now. Oddly enough, I have not had the opportunity to speak with you, but will be on my first conference call with you and Ali Brown tonight.
My business is in New Orleans. As I’m sure you can imagine, New Orleannians have had had and hard time over the past couple of years. We have had to make huge adjustments in how we do everything from buying groceries to running our businesses. The failed levees caused a lot of pain. Although my small business and my dad’s mechanic shop were destroyed and my parent’s home along with many extended family members’ homes were flooded, in the grand scheme of things my family was very fortunate. A lot has been put back together and a lot still needs to be done, but I feel the worst is behind us now. The city as a whole has moved from survival, to reflection and now to toward rebirth.
With fingers crossed, I was able to reopen my business center last February in New Orleans. It has been an exercise in patients, but we are doing well! The city is rebounding. Because things have changed so drastically, I have had to (and continue to) rethink how to run a business. Under the best of circumstances a small business has little room for error, starting a business in a devastated city leaves even less wiggle room.
I stumbled upon the term virtual assistant back in early summer while looking for a remote phone receptionist. I really couldn’t believe what I had discovered—remote experts. I was so excited about the possibilities of partnering with a professional who was also a business owner like me, and was an expert at doing the things that I struggle with. And to top it off, she would care about my business’s success nearly as much as I did, made it simply a perfect relationship. The impact that a virtual assistant could have on my business and my customers businesses was immediately apparent. I invested hours and hours into learning the industry, researched over 50 VA websites and spoke with dozens of assistants. Unfortunately, the great possibilities have remained just that, possibilities. I have had a hard time putting the potential into action.
Even after all the research and conversations with VA’s, I’m sill not sure what I need to do to transition over to them. Having your Virtual Team Building Tele-Bootcamp show me how to find a good team and how to coordinate with that team would be a God send. I desperately need your guidance and assistance—At this point; I think I have a bad case of analysis-paralysis!
On the flip side, my business is geared to help entrepreneurs grow and rebuild their businesses here in New Orleans. This mission has become even more important since the storm. The virtual team I assemble will not only support my business, but will help support dozens of other small business owners in the area.
My team will be shared with my customers, other pioneering small business owners and entrepreneurs who are taking a huge risk in New Orleans. Your course will give me another tool to help my clients prosper.
Your Virtual Team Building Tele-Bootcamp can have an amazing influence on the small business landscape of New Orleans. It can make the difference between survival and rebirth for many of us.
Thank you for the opportunity to access your knowledge.

Melanie, This contest is a great idea! I am already a member of your Fast Track Program and am gaining momentum after only two weeks with with my master mind group. One of the greatest insights that I have gained so far is coming to terms with the fact that I need to expand my virtual team to prevent burnout and make sure that I am staying anchored in my values while sailing toward my vision.
1) I want (and need) to expand my virtual team in order to propel my business to the next level. I have been consulting and speaking full time for four years and have been successful but want to take it to the next level. My success has come at a price. Although I am earning decent money, and building a strong customer base, I’m exhausted and am not realizing my true potential. As a visionary entrepreneur, I can see all the possibilities, but they are just beyond my reach because I can’t get it all done alone.
2) Having a seat in the Virtual Team Building Tele Bootcamp will provide me with the essential tools that I need to move my business from “me-doing-it-all” to me leading it. In order to shift from the worker bee to the entrepreneurial leader, I need to build my team with clarity, direction and focus. That means I also need to be willing to take an honest look at my current situation and ask for help. So here I go. Please help me move to the next level by giving me a seat in your Virtual Team Building Tele-bootcamp.
Here’s to the synergy of success! Kris

1. WHY do you want to build a team? What will it help you create more of and why is that important to you?
I want to build a virtual team because I realized to be successful in business I need the help of others who are where I want to be to advise me on the proper systems to put in place to propel me into areas where I do not have knowledge or experience. As the host of an online radio show my goal is to assist people find the necessary resources to help them attain their desired levels of success. By having a virtual team I can lead by example
2. HOW will getting a seat in my Virtual Team Building Tele-Bootcamp starting April 2nd help you accomplish that?
Getting a seat in the April 2nd VTBTB will engage me with experts in various areas of Virtual Business development who can help me shorten the learning curve and avoid unnecessary pitfalls that can prolong my success.

WHY do you want to build a team? Because I know that the most successful entrepreneurs have a team, like Melanie (you), Ali Brown, Lori Morgan-Feraro, Fabienne Fredrickson and others. These women know how to create a life and business that allows them to live the lifestyle they want and build a successful business that allows them to only work on what is most important - their service to others. So, I try to learn and to model those that have acheived success. I take heed to their advice. Besides, I really know that I need to be spending my time on nothing but the programs and services that allow me to serve and shine.
What will it help you create more of and why is that important to you? A team will help me to create days, weeks, months, of less distraction on STUFF and peace knowing that I don’t have to worry that STUFF isn’t getting done, all the while giving me rest and peace of mind. There is nothing more draining on energy than trying do all the STUFF that takes you away from really shining and serving what I am here to do. Spending hours on either trying to transcribe one of my own teleclasses, or fiddle with tech stuff in 1SC, or spend half a Saturday morning posting my own articles to ezine directories is crazy and these are just some of the areas where a team can support my business.
HOW will getting a seat in my Virtual Team Building Tele-Bootcamp starting April 2nd help you accomplish that? Having a seat in your Tele-Bootcamp will help me learn HOW to build a team.. to learn from you the steps involved, determine what type of expertise I need, when I need it, and will help me at varying times of growth in my business. I am sure it is more than just hiring one v.a. and outsourcing a project here and there. I want to learn the steps involved to ensure success in building my team. One that I can grow with, enjoy working with, and learn from too.

WHY do you want to build a team? What will it help you create more of and why is that important to you?
I want to build a team because I can’t keep playing all of the positions myself. I directly coach over 10,000 homeschool parents EVERY DAY through my elists and ezines. I provide parents with information, resources, and support so they can teach their children at home through my popular websites http://www.Homefires.com and http://www.UniversalPreschool.com. I’m the author of the book “Carschooling: Over 350 Entertaining Games & Activities To Turn Travel Time Into Learning Time” published by Random House (http://www.Carschooling.com), and I write articles that are regularly published in homeschool magazines, websites, blogs, and publications. I have contributed to 5 books on homeschooling. I am a frequent keynote speaker at homeschool conferences, seminars and workshops. I have 3 new seminars to produce this year on top of 15 already scheduled speaking engagements. I have 4 books in different stages of development. I have 3 ezines to produce monthly, and I’m falling behind in my production schedule. I hardly ever get a chance to blog anymore. I provide daily reviews of educational websites (Monday-Saturday) to homeschool parents. I supervise a team of educational product reviewers, and publish the reviews. I’ve got advertisers waiting for me to respond to their requests to advertise on my websites! I’ve got people requesting products and information from me, but I just don’t have the time to fully implement a way to deliver what they need. I had a hard drive crash last summer, and although a lab was able to recover most of what I lost - I haven’t had time to upload my Quickbooks from the recovered drive and update my books - and tax time is upon us! Ack! Email is a constant - but it’s hard to sift through it effectively so I can respond to people who really need my assistance. I need to build a team to help create more time for me to do what I do best - and that is to coach parents on how to help their children love learning and achieve success and happiness through homeschooling. This didn’t start out as a business back in 1992 when I first started homeschooling my own kids, but it has certainly turned into one. I feel like I’m stuck in the dugout and need a virtual team so I can get out on the field and back in play.
HOW will getting a seat in my Virtual Team Building Tele-Bootcamp starting April 2nd help you accomplish that?
I’m a coach in need of a manager’s direction! Since you’re the ultimate team management expert, I assume that if I follow your advice play-by-play, I can win this game and achieve my goals.

WHY do you want to build a team? What will it help you create more of and why is that important to you?
I feel like I am poised at the very edge of an opening towards unlimited possibilities, and that the ticket to passing through this window of opportunity is by partnering with various virtual teams.
My creed in life is to “Make a Difference”! In order to benefit others in using my best gifts, I need to be using those gifts and experience as much as possible. For example, even though I can do the administrative aspects of running a business, these are not the activities that will make a difference and benefit others.
I see the power of having a virtual team captured in the essence of the meaning of the timeless saying - “2 or more heads are better than 1”. When 2 or more people are working together using their unique gifts and talents and sharing their ideas, than their accomplishments & blessings will be multiplied well beyond that of one person’s doing.
If I am working with a virtual team, then we will connect more businesses with wise insights of value innovation that will enable them to consistently delight their customers. If I am working with a virtual team, then we will infuse new ways of “listening” to customers’ preferences & insights thereby creating new products & services for unmet needs. If I am working with a virtual team, then we will have more time to help others discover their own purpose and calling. If I am working with a virtual team, then we will inspire more people to seek a meaningful relationship with God, our creator.
HOW will getting a seat in my Virtual Team Building Tele-Bootcamp starting April 2nd help you accomplish that?
A wise person not known to me once said, “When you are faced with a daunting mountain, walk towards that mountain, and you will discover a foot path providing you with the steps you need to take to conquer that mountain”. I see the Virtual Team Building Tele-Bootcamp as that foot path.

Hi Melanie,
Why:
Hoping this contest is the answer to my prayers. I’m so frustrated with trying take my business to next levels.
I started my business with the intention of putting a team together to take over the day to day stuff of running the business. The business can’t grow or become the legacy I desire nor can I go play on the beaches with me doing everything.
I put projects on hold, the part of my business I love doing. I’m splitting my business time between working in and on my business. The sooner I get out of working in it, the happier it will make me. There is only so much one can do and I don’t work myself in exhaustion again.
Yet somehow putting together a dream team keeps eluding me. I’m tired of wasting time and money trying to figure it out. Either I’m missing something, or doing something wrong or going about it the wrong way.
Putting together documentation, screen shots and even videos on procedures, still hasn’t helped. My last bookkeeper made such a mess of everything, even my accountant was shocked… and she recommended this person. I needed to bring in another bookkeeper to clean up the mess. Hopefully this bookkeeper will work out.
Bring on virtual assistants hasn’t worked out very well either. I know I’m not alone. A friend of mine went through VA hell last year. He is hoping his fourth VA will be the answer. I too am tired of people flaking out on you. I’ve just about given up on virtual assistants.
But I hear about other people who seem to find their dream virtual assistants so I still hang on to hope that mine is out there somewhere. I know they are out there.
How:
I think about my old job days that we would hire 5-6 people for one sale associate position. Knowing probably only one of those people would work out. Maybe I’m on the right track and it will taking going through several people before finding the right ones that will eventually comprise our team. What a waste of time and money. There must be an easier more efficient approach.
It sure would be great if your boot camp can cut down on the trial and error process. Maybe the people I think I need might not be the best place to start. Right now this is the part of my business that frustrates me the most…. knowing I need a team and wanting a team is completely different from knowing how to build a team.
Help… I’m burned out from trying to figure out how to build a team

Hi Melanie,
Well, I know you know the story already, but for the rest of the world, a little background first:
My wife/biz partner Lani and I launched Epiphanies, Inc. (”A-Ha Yourself!”) in 2004. Since then, we’ve continued to grow, but this year, we may be reaching our limits.
And by that, I mean the limits of what we can do with just the two of us.
We know for a fact we don’t want to hire employees … and yet we know how well having a team has worked for you, Melanie, and for our good friend and strategic ally Kevin Skarritt at Acorn Creative.
Also, with a new baby in the house, we can handle the current client workload we have, but we don’t have the time or resources to implement the ideas we have for our own business.
That all said…building a team will help us help more people (including ourselves!) take their boldest ideas and put them into joy-filled action in fun and profitable ways.
It’s important to us because we feel the meaning people are seeking in their lives isn’t necessarily going to be found in corporate jobs, or sitting at home watching TV. It’s going to be found in actively pursuing one’s passions, and having the tools to share those passions with an Ideal Audience.
That’s why we started this business - to help people do something fulfilling with their biggest, most compelling “Aha!” moments.
Meanwhile, we had a VA in 2006, but because we didn’t have all our systems in place, we didn’t get as much ROI out of the relationship as we could have. (Make no mistake - our VA did everything she could to help us, and she was fabulous. It was where we were at, in our business and lives, that wasn’t working.)
We’re thinking about hiring a new VA in 2008, and we already have an accountant … but there’s been a lot of “Management by abdication” going on, as The E-Myth would put it, and we can’t make that same mistake again if we’re going to start expanding our team.
So ultimately, the biggest benefit of a seat in the Virtual Team Building Tele-Bootcamp would be the opportunity to learn how to manage our internal systems and external relationships - all in support of the larger idea of showing more and more people how to A-Ha Themselves, if you will.
And there you have it! Thanks for running this contest and offering this opportunity to your readers, Melanie…
Best,
Allen Voivod
